Saudi Arabia has imposed travel bans on several countries

Saudi Arabia announces new travel bans

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has imposed travel bans in 16 countries, including India, in view of increasing cases of corona.

According to Arab media, the ban was imposed by the Saudi Directorate General of Passports in view of the growing number of cases of corona in the countries concerned on a daily basis. The government has barred its citizens from traveling to 16 countries, including India, to avoid corona.

Besides India, the banned countries include Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, Congo, Libya, Indonesia, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus and Venezuela.

Passports of Saudi nationals intending to travel to non-Arab countries must be valid for a period of more than 6 months, and must be accompanied by an original ID card.

The Directorate General of Passports has directed the citizens of the country that the validity of the passport of a citizen traveling in non-Arab countries should be 6 months while the validity of passport for traveling in Arab countries should be more than three months. Citizens must also carry an original ID card and family registry to travel abroad.
