Saudi Arabia: Government’s major decision to facilitate employees –

Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Manpower and Social Welfare has hinted at introducing online duty system in government agencies.

According to Saudi media, the Ministry of Manpower says that several amendments have been made in the strategy. Under the online duty, government employees will perform their duties away from the office through electronic system, smart system and information technology.

The Special Committee on Manpower and Social Welfare of the Ministry is considering all matters related to online duty in the government agency.

The Minister will approve jobs that can be done online on the recommendation of the Manpower Committee. Regarding the online duty, the officials of the Ministry of Manpower have indicated that in such a case, the transport allowance of the employees will be abolished.

The government agency has proposed the method of online duty and has given suggestions to the committee considering online vacancies.

An amendment has also been made in the strategy that those who will study abroad on Saudi scholarship will have to work in their own institution for the duration of study abroad. Failure to do so will result in repayment of all expenses incurred on his education.

If one takes charge of duty on completion of education and leaves the institution after a period of time, then the expenses incurred on the remaining period of education abroad will have to be paid.
