For the first time in Saudi Arabia, a rally for women drivers has been announced.

According to the report, the first rally of women drivers in the country has been named as ‘Rally Jamil’, which is being held under the development and diversification program of Vision 2030 of the country.
Organizers said the rally was aimed at empowering women in the country.
The rally was announced at the office of Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, a Toyota car distributor in Saudi Arabia, where Prince Kalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Munir Khawaja, Managing Director (MD) of the company’s liaison department, said that we are proud to launch this rally, which aims to set new standards in women’s motor sports in the country.
He said that through the first rally of women drivers in the country, the company wants to achieve its other national goals as holding this event will draw worldwide attention to Saudi Arabia.
“It’s an opportunity for them to see the culture of the country, the historical aspect and the tourism,” he said.
It may be recalled that Abdullah Bakhshab, a former Saudi rally driver, is the regular organizer of the first rally of women drivers in the country.
He said that the rally would last for 3 days and its distance has been fixed at 900 km, which will start from Qasim province in the country and will end in the capital Riyadh.
He further said that each team will have one female driver and one assistant and 20 female drivers will be able to participate in this rally.
According to the report, Prince Khalid said on the occasion that with such measures, “we want to encourage locals, we would like to see more women racing in Saudi Arabia.”
