Satish Shah Funeral: ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ Cast Sings Beloved Theme

Veteran actor Satish Shah, known for his iconic role in the popular television series Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away at the age of 74. The show, which has achieved cult status, was central to a poignant tribute at his funeral.

A video from the service shows cast members gathered to bid farewell. JD Majethia, Rajesh Kumar, Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Ganguly, and Deven Bhojani were among those present. They stood united, singing the beloved theme song from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai in front of Shah’s pyre.

JD Majethia shared the emotional video on Instagram. He noted that the show’s title track had become a "ritual" for the cast. Majethia added, "Satish bhai was also a very good singer, and we felt this was the right tribute from the team."

Fans responded warmly to the post. Many commented that it was "the most fitting tribute" to the late actor. Others expressed deep respect for the cast "as a team, as artists, and as humans."

The funeral for Satish Shah took place Sunday morning at a crematorium in Bandra. A number of Bollywood figures attended, including David Dhawan, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Ashok Pandit, Johnny Lever, and Dilip Joshi.
