Sarfaraz Khan Scores Century Against India A, Eyes England Test Squad

Sarfaraz Khan is making a strong case for himself. He just hit a century against Shubman Gill’s team in a practice match. This comes after his impressive 92-run knock against England Lions. Despite not being part of the initial Test squad, Khan is sending a message to selectors that he’s ready for the tour.

The India A team is currently playing a practice match against the main Indian team at the Kent County Ground. Khan’s century is the highlight so far. On the bowling side, Jasprit Bumrah didn’t get any wickets, while Mohammed Siraj picked up two but gave away a lot of runs.

Khan’s performance is crucial, especially since he wasn’t part of the original Test squad. However, he’s proving himself with each game. The Indian team’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, has hinted that players can be called up mid-tour if they perform well. Khan is taking advantage of every opportunity to possibly grab a spot in the main team if anyone gets injured or drops out.

The practice match continues, with India A scoring 266/6 on the second day. Sai Sudarshan and Ishan Kishan made notable contributions with 38 and 45 runs, respectively. However, Rituraj Gaikwad was dismissed for a duck.

The first Test between India and England starts on June 20. While there’s no live broadcast of the ongoing practice match, the Test series will be televised on the Star Sports network and live-streamed on the JioCinema app.
