Delhi Capitals edged out Rajasthan Royals in a nail-biting finish. The match ended in a tie, but Delhi won the Super Over.
Delhi batted first, scoring 188 runs. Rajasthan Royals matched the score, forcing the game into a Super Over. Sandeep Sharma bowled the Super Over for Rajasthan, but Delhi chased down the target of 12 runs in just four balls.
A Thrilling Finish
Mitchell Starc’s brilliant bowling in the final over forced the match into a Super Over. With Rajasthan needing nine runs to win off the last six balls, Starc restricted them to just nine runs, tying the match.
In the Super Over, Starc continued his dominance, conceding only 11 runs. Shimron Hetmyer struggled, scoring just six runs off four balls for Delhi. Riyan Parag hit a four but was dismissed on the next ball.
Sandeep Sharma’s Eventful Over
Sandeep Sharma’s final over for Rajasthan Royals was marred by errors. He bowled four wides and a no-ball, resulting in 11 balls being bowled in that over. This unusual occurrence has happened only three times before in the IPL.
Tushar Deshpande, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur are the other bowlers to have achieved this feat. Sandeep Sharma became the fourth bowler to do so during this match.
