Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release Sparks Success After 9 Years

The trend of re-releasing films in Bollywood has been gaining momentum, with several movies being re-released in recent times. While many films have been re-released, only a few have managed to recreate their magic at the box office. One such film is ‘Laila Majnu’, which failed to perform well in 2018 but became a huge success after its re-release. Another film that has followed in its footsteps is ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, a 2016 film starring Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane.

After nearly nine years, ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ has been re-released, and it has started to spread its fire once again. The film, which was initially a flop, is now expected to become a big hit. According to reports, the film collected Rs 4.25 crore on its first day of re-release, and its collection on the second day was around Rs 5 crore. This takes its total collection to Rs 9.25 crore after re-release. In comparison, the film had earned only Rs 1.25 crore on its first day when it was initially released in 2016, and its lifetime collection was Rs 16 crore.

Popularity of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’

The popularity of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ grew when it was released on OTT platforms. The film’s painful story resonated with audiences, and its popularity soared. When the trend of re-releasing films started, fans began tagging Harshvardhan Rane on social media, requesting him to get the film re-released. The actor took note of the demand and approached the film’s producer, Deepak Mukut, with the request. Mukut has spoken about the decision to re-release the film in a viral video on social media.
