The San Lorenzo Board of Directors unanimously approved paying tribute to coach Edgardo Bauza, naming a sector of the Pedro Bidegain stadium after him.
In this way, the technical director who led the 2014 Copa Libertadores champion team will have a new recognition from the Boedo club.
The leaders of the ruling party had been working for a long time on the tribute to “Patón”, to the point that there are already advanced designs thinking about the possibility of putting his name to the local locker room, the place most preserved by any coach.
Some members of the leadership also proposed that a sector of the Platea Sur be named after Edgardo Bauza, who is currently based in Ecuador, where he is going through a delicate state of health.
It was also resolved that throughout the month of September the club pay homage to the members of the unforgettable team of 1972, who 50 years ago conquered the Metropolitan and National and transformed San Lorenzo into the first two-time champion of Argentine soccer.
The next month was chosen to remember those champions because the first of those two Olympic laps took place on September 3.
