San Lorenzo: Lammens asks "elections"the opposition says "enough of story" and demands them "Already"

The former president and current member of San Lorenzo Matías Lammens affirmed this Tuesday that the club must call elections “yes or yes this year”, with the aim of regularizing its institutional situation after the resignation of Marcelo Tinelli as president.

“Given the departure of Tinelli from San Lorenzo, elections must be called yes or yes this year to normalize the institutional situation. It is what corresponds because the authorities have to legitimize,” Lammens said in an interview for Radio 10.

Lammens, current head of the Nation’s Tourism and Sports portfolio, extended the request to his peers on the board of directors. “I said it publicly and it is what has to happen in the next few days. It is not logical that it continues to function without the president that the partners elected three years ago,” Lammens pointed out.

San Lorenzo is chaired by Horacio Arreceygor as a result of Tinelli’s departure, while the club is experiencing a strong institutional, economic and football crisis that led to the anger of the fans in the stands and the opposition’s request to call early elections.

Following Lammens’ statements, the opposition in San Lorenzo was quick to respond. “They are not going to confuse us, the ruling party of #SanLorenzo does not want early elections. Lammens’s statements that elections should be called in December are a pose to decompress his personal situation. Everything revolves around his eventual candidacy in CABA. It is clearly a verbal jugglery without a correlate in reality or rather a Chicana,” they pointed out. “If he really wants early elections in December, why doesn’t he call them? He has a majority in the Board of Directors to do it. Enough of the story, SanLorenzo needs real actions,” they added.
