San Lorenzo does not lift: lost 2-0 with Talleres and finished with nine players

San Lorenzo landed on the sixth date of the Professional League tournament with the intention of leaving behind the hard defeat suffered in Santa Fe in his previous game, when Union beat him 4-0. What happened this Monday in Córdoba, however, it was very far from that possibility. And the result simply deepened the difficult moment that the group is going through led by the Uruguayan Paolo Montero, who lost to Talleres 2-0 and now he will point to the match against Argentinos to try to reverse this negative run.

The Cordoba team had enough time to ensure their victory against a San Lorenzo who offered a disconcerting and gray face on his visit to the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium. It was in those first 45 minutes that those led by another Uruguayan, Alexander Medina, scored the goals that defined history in favor of the local.

Barely 120 seconds had passed when Talleres made it clear that his offensive incursions were capable of damaging the Barça team, because that was when a corner created danger in the visiting area and forced goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico to intervene. The first cry of the “T” came just 13 minutes later, again through an action originating from the corner: Héctor Fértoli took charge of the stopped ball and served a center that found only Enzo Díaz, who from the penalty spot headed to the ground to make it 1-0.

When the first half evaporated, Fértoli went from assistant to assisted, in a maneuver that included a notable loan from Juan Méndez to enable 10 of the Cordoba team. In three passes, Talleres made the 2-0 that ended the match: Rafael Pérez handed the ball to Méndez, who he had seen Fértoli a second before and activated the danger by prodding him the ball, so that he received it with the time to stop left-handed and define against Torrico.

To the apathy of San Lorenzo in the two plays that buried the ball in the net of his goalkeeper, the beginning of the second half added the incidence that returned an odyssey the possibility of reversing the score. It was at 64 minutes, when Gino Peruzzi entered late and violently on Angelo Martino and he won the direct red that left his team with ten players. Talleres slowed down, aware of the numerical, football and emotional advantage, and did not widen the difference thanks to Torrico’s saves, the only one on his team who “out of tune” with a good performance. In the absence of three minutes, Siro Rosané exposed his impotence with an entry even harder than that of the former Vélez and Montero’s team closed their performance with nine players, a final of those that only invite improvement.
