San Antonio Spurs’ Stephon Castle Wins 2024-2025 NBA Rookie of the Year Award

Stephon Castle has been crowned the 2024-2025 NBA Rookie of the Year, beating out Zaccharie Risacher and Jaylen Wells. A panel of 100 global media voters chose Castle, who received 92 first-place votes. The San Antonio Spurs’ fourth overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft dominated the voting.

Castle is the fourth Spurs player to win this award, following in the footsteps of Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Last year’s winner, Victor Wembanyama, was a unanimous choice. Castle’s confidence was key to his success. “I’ve always been very confident as a player,” he told ESPN. “I felt like there was no doubt in my mind that this moment would come, especially with all the hard work I put in. I felt like it was bound to happen. That’s what got me to this point.”
