Samsung will surprise with new 200 MP ISOCELL HP3 sensor

The first mobile image sensor with 200 MP was released about seven months ago. Now him Samsung has a new solution that, very soon, should grace the smart phones android and other mobile devices. the problem is the sensor Samsung ISOCELL HP3 to the camera of our team.

Given the growing popularity of smartphones with high resolution sensors, manufacturers continue to challenge themselves to increase this number of megapixels. In fact, after having seen the first sensor with a resolution of 200 MP in September 2021, we now have the new generation already in development, called ISOCELL HP3.

It is important to note, however, that so far we only have one smartphone on the market with the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor, in the prototype phase, a Motorola device. However, we hope that more manufacturers will use this new range of high resolution Samsung sensors, especially as they are improved.

Although its adoption has not been as fast as one might think, Samsung continues to develop this new range of image sensors. Thus, we have in the ISOCELL HP3 sensor the successor of the current Samsung ISOCELL HP1.

Unfortunately we do not have technical information about the new sensor. That is, at the moment we do not know what will differ between the two image sensors of South Korean technology. However, it’s reasonable to expect the new sensor to be roughly the same 1/1.22-inch size as the current product, as well as the same 200MP maximum resolution.

The new high-resolution Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor is still under development. Thus, we will have to wait a few more months until its official presentation, possibly in September 2022.

Later we will be able to see the first smartphones equipped with this sensor arriving at the end of this year. At the moment, however, we do not know which manufacturers will adopt this new component, although Xiaomi and, naturally, Samsung are among the main candidates to continue improving their respective cameras.
