Samsung will have given up on the Galaxy Note by 2022

The latest launch of Samsung’s beloved Galaxy Note line took place in the summer of 2020. The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra were powerful smartphones, which we had the opportunity to test and praise for their quality and maturity.

2021 followed and, for the first time in years, Samsung decided not to launch the usual Note line in August. This after giving, for the first time, S Pen support to a smartphone outside of that line (the Galaxy S21 Ultra).

Samsung has excluded the new Galaxy Note from the production plan for 2022, according to ETNews

According to the South Korean website ET News, Samsung will have decided to abandon the Galaxy Note line entirely. This source says that the development of new terminals on this line will be completed and they are excluded from the annual production plan for 2022.

You should keep in mind that this is not an official confirmation, and that the latest official statements from Samsung indicated a new launch of the line in 2022. But it seems that the manufacturer will have changed his mind.

Remember that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is seen as the true successor to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. According to unofficial renderings, it will have a very “boxy” design, with interior space for the S Pen.

As Gizmochina mentioned, Samsung seems to be undecided on what to do with the Note line. But if the S22 Ultra really does come to have this design, it’s hard to justify keeping the Note line up in 2022.

For Note enthusiasts, the outlook is not the best. Would you like the Note line to return in 2022, or would a Galaxy S22 Ultra with the old design suffice?
