Samsung released the Galaxy Z Fold 3 earlier this week, and one of the highlights is the support for the S Pen.
This is the first collapsible to come with this feature, and Samsung has also released a new S Pen built specifically for collapsible devices.
Naturally, Samsung Galaxy Note users may be tempted to use their S Pen with the new Galaxy Z Fold3. However, this is a very bad idea.
The company explains that using an older S Pen with the new folding device can break the screen, And of course that’s why you should buy a new S Pen designed specifically for the Galaxy Fold 3.
Only the Z Fold3 main screen can accommodate the S Pen. Compatible with S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro only. Any other S Pen or stylus not designed for the Z Fold3 (including those from other manufacturers) may damage the screen.
In case you wonder why this happens, it’s because Samsung designed the new S Pen with a special tip to prevent any damage to the screen.
S Pen for Z Fold3 comes in two options: S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro. Both feature a specially designed Pro retractable tip with force limit technology to protect the Z Fold3 main screen so you can have peace of mind when using the S Pen.
The Galaxy Fold3 and the new S Pen are now available for pre-purchase.
