Samsung Unveils Innovations Behind Galaxy S25 Edge’s Sleek Design

The wait is over for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. This sleek flagship phone has hit the market, boasting cutting-edge engineering and solving long-standing issues within its slender frame. Samsung claims it’s packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, reaching speeds of up to 4.47 GHz, and a whopping 200-megapixel camera. All this is squeezed into a mere 5.8mm thin and 163-gram body.

So, what’s behind this feat? Samsung developed a new installation system, allowing components to fit together with just 0.1mm of space. The company refined this design through multiple prototype versions to get it just right.

They also managed to slim down the 200-megapixel camera by tweaking its autofocus hardware, image stabilization, and using a two-layer lens structure. This makes the camera module noticeably shorter than the one in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which also features a 200-megapixel camera.

To keep things cool, Samsung increased the air vent size by 10% compared to the Galaxy S25+, using a perforated structure to connect the chipset directly to the vent for better heat dissipation. A custom-designed heat sink sits between the chipset and the vent, absorbing heat from other components more efficiently.

The Galaxy S25 Edge also features a lightweight titanium frame, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s paired with a 6.7-inch LTPO display, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back.

While Samsung is thrilled with its innovation, the real test will be how well the Galaxy S25 Edge handles heat over extended use.
