Last May, at Display Week 2021, Samsung Display showed a photo of a prototype dual smartphone it was working on. Now the phone has arrived at the iMiD 2021 showroom.
Samsung released the first Galaxy Fold folding phone in 2019, offering users a smartphone and mini-tablet experience on the same device. Over the next two years, Samsung released enhanced versions of this smartphone.
Now the Samsung Display is showing what could come next: a double hinge concept that “Can be folded in and out.”
The video below doesn’t show these two hinges in action, but rather a demonstration of the kind of functionality users can expect from the 7.2 inch OLED screen.
The three different display areas can be used as a single large screen when unfolded or can be zoned for multitasking.
We don’t see the rear, but there’s a dual-camera matrix to the left of the main screen, physical buttons at the top of the panel, and a USB port at the bottom.
