A rumor originating in South Korea relaunches the possibility that Samsung will launch a totally irreverent product. We are talking about a laptop with a folding screen.
Such product may be designated as Samsung Galaxy Book Fold and its release may be in the near future. Even so, a specific date for the presentation of this team has not been advanced.
Samsung Galaxy Book Fold will have a folding screen
The possibility of Samsung embarking on the folding laptop segment is not new. Several rumors support this theory, but the most recent information points to the proximity of its realization.
Apparently, the South Korean will reinforce its line of folding smartphones at the same time as its line of laptops. That is, it is likely that the latter will also benefit from the efforts of Samsung Display in the development of this type of panel.
Currently, Samsung will be testing various laptop prototypes with foldable screens. Some were developed with 14-inch screens and others with 17-inch screens.
This will be the size of the screens in all their fullness. But its main highlight will be the possibility of folding said component, giving greater portability to these work or leisure products.
It is important to note that Samsung has already talked about a hypothetical laptop/tablet precisely with a 17-inch folding screen. This mysterious product could be one of the first to be launched by the brand in this niche market.
The market has already been rewarded with the reveal of foldable screen laptops from other brands. Earlier in 2020, we saw Lenovo introduce its ThinkPad X1 Fold, and more recently ASUS talked about the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED.
Both laptops are still in the concept stage, which means they are not ready to be sold. However, Samsung could be the first to put a product with such technology in stores.
