Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5: a folding smartphone that is worth more than your camera

Next August, Samsung will undoubtedly introduce a new generation of its foldable smartphones. The highlight will fall, above all, on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, the brand’s most powerful foldable for 2023.

Although it is the most daring product of the brand, apparently it will not benefit from all the cutting-edge technology available to Samsung. In particular its camera, which, it seems, will remain unchanged compared to the Galaxy Z Fold4.

Galaxy Z Fold5 will continue to use the same camera module as Fold4. It is impossible to use HP2.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will inherit its predecessor’s camera

The information is advanced by the well-known Ice Universe, always attentive to the designs of South Korean technology. As found, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will not change its photographic set.

This means that the Samsung Galaxy Z Foldd5 will once again have a triple camera on the back. This will consist of a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP wide angle and a 10 MP telephoto lens.

The reason for not updating this set is apparently the inability to use the HP2 sensor in the Galaxy Z Fold5. This is the new 200 MP sensor that the South Korean has placed inside the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Even without going into details, it is believed that this impossibility is due to physical limitations. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will have a very different design to the Galaxy S23 Ultra which will not support the addition of this sensor.

This rumor should not surprise those who follow Samsung and its mobile strategy. We are very aware that their folding products do not usually have all the best technologies available to the brand.

If you want the best possible camera, you should go for the Galaxy S Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip stand out for their folding philosophy. That is the irreverence factor of the smartphones that the brand will present in the middle of summer.

If the Galaxy Z Fold5 does indeed maintain the set of its predecessor, this does not mean that it will be a bad set. In fact, they’re excellent cameras that earned the Galaxy Z Fold4 a respectable 124 points from DxOMark experts.
