The protective covers of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold show a folding design
Although Samsung will only officially present its new generations of folding smartphones in July, rumors and leaks about the terminals happen almost every day.
The most recent comes through the Ice Universe leaker who published images, on the Twitter social network, of the protective covers of the new Galaxy Z Fold 5. And from these images it can be seen that the new foldable will have few (or even no ) design changes.
Previously, some images of the Fold 5 had already been revealed showing that Samsung had not made any major changes to the look of the model. In fact, the images released by Ice Universe only confirm this information.
To show that the South Korean giant did not really change the design of the model, the well-known leaker also published images of the protective covers of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 that show the similarities between the two terminals.
Specs expected in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
However, several other rumors have already revealed the specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and, in this field, there are several changes.
The new foldable comes equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, in its customized version for the Galaxy platform. It will be paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage capacities.
The model will also have a 7.6-inch main screen and a 6.2-inch secondary screen. The two panels will be AMOLED and will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, in addition to providing a higher brightness than the previous model that was not specified.
On the optical side, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, complemented by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 10-megapixel third sensor; This camera will be able to record video up to 8K at 30 frames per second. Apparently, the camera integrated into the screen has also been improved.
The new hinge mechanism, in the shape of a drop of water, will further hide the crease of the screen and reduce the space between the two screens when the terminal is closed. The model will also be lighter and will have an IPX8 water resistance rating.
