Let’s start with the layout and dimensions. Regarding the first point, Samsung maintained the “formula” that it believes to be the winner and that works in the style of an open and closed book.

But in dimensions, the situation is different. Once opened, the Fold 4 has dimensions of 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3 mm, while when closed it measures 155.1 x 67.1 x 14.2-15.8 mm.

In turn, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 when open registers 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4 mm and closed 158.2 x 67.1 x 14.4-16 mm. As you can see, you have just found the first difference between both terminals: the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is somewhat smaller than its predecessor. It’s also lighter, weighing 263 grams compared to 271 grams for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

2. Processor and GPU

Of course, Samsung has updated the processor, after all, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a smartphone aimed at the premium segment. This is also one of the most significant differences between the two models.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G processor, while the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

But the South Korean giant also upgraded the GPU from the Adreno 660 to the Adreno 670 in the model it unveiled this week. As a result, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will run faster and more power efficiently.

Let’s now move on to the rear panel, where we find one more difference between the two terminals. Recall that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a rear camera setup with a primary sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, and a telephoto lens, all with a resolution of 12 megapixels.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 presents other arguments. It comes with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. It should be noted that the latter, despite having less resolution than the former, provides 3x optical zoom, while the Fold 3’s telephoto sensor is limited to 2x optical zoom.

On the front, both generations have a 4-megapixel camera built into the screen and a 10-megapixel sensor on the external screen.

4. Battery and charging

At this specific point, small adjustments were made that can make a difference. Both models have a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

But Samsung has made some minor adjustments so that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 charges 30% faster than its predecessor. Depending on the brand, the model can charge 50% of the battery in 30 minutes.

As for wireless charging, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 provides 15 watts while the Galaxy Z Fold 3 stays at 11 watts.

At first glance they may seem too similar, but in reality the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has continued Samsung’s commitment to the evolution of foldables that, since 2019, when it was first launched, has always brought with it novelties capable of conquering consumers. users who are fans of this type of equipment.
