The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is a little more compact than its predecessorsince it went from 73.6 x 167.3 x 6.9 mm (Flip2) to 72.2 x 166 x 6.9 mm (Flip3). When closed, the overall thickness of the smartphone was reduced from 17.3 mm to 17.1 mm in the thickest area.
Glass surfaces are protected byr Gorilla Glass Victus, the latest generation of Corning coating which is 50% stronger than the previous generation Gorilla Glass 6. The camera’s external window is protected by Gorilla Glass DX.
On the outside, the Galaxy Z Flip3’s metal frame and hinge are constructed of a new material called Aluminum Armor, which according to Samsung is 10% more resistant than its predecessor. This should help to resist shocks better.
Another improvement that the Galaxy Z Flip3 brings is the resistance IPX8 waterproof, which makes the phone withstand up to 30 minutes submerged 1.5 meters in water.
Although Samsung doesn’t recommend dipping your phone, it’s comforting to know that nothing will happen to you if water gets on you or if you accidentally fall into a pool or bathtub.
