There are less than 24 hours left for the official presentation of the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. The new range of smart watches already has few secrets for the community, but there is a detail that until now had gone unnoticed.
The novelty comes through the new promotional images of the Galaxy Watch 5 shared by Roland Quandt. In the one that illustrates the lower part of the watch we can see the inscription “Sapphire crystal”.

This means that the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will come with a sapphire-coated screen. A much more resistant material than conventional glass, normally used only in the most expensive models.
It is important to underline that we are talking about the base version of the next range of smartwatches from Samsung. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro should also use sapphire glass, but its inclusion is even healthier in the cheaper model.
From a physical point of view, great news was not expected for the base models of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 range. However, the use of sapphire to cover the screen of this product is a remarkable detail.
As an example, the Apple Watch only uses sapphire on the stainless steel and titanium models. These are the most expensive versions of the watch that dominates this market niche.
In addition to this detail, the images now shared by Roland Quandt do not bring great news. Unsurprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will be pretty much identical to its predecessor.
It is also important to note that the use of sapphire to protect the screen of the Galaxy Watch 5 will not sacrifice the price of the product too much. According to rumors, it will hit stores with a base value of around €300.
