One of Samsung’s next big releases will include its new Galaxy Watch 5 series of smartwatches.
It was recently revealed that the brand will be launching a Pro model this time and it seems this will be a wearable not only with more advanced specifications but also built with premium materials.
The Pro version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will feature a titanium case and sapphire crystal
Samsung is expected to launch its new Galaxy Watch 5 series during the coming month of August, but it seems that this time the brand will make a Pro model available. As recently revealed, these variants will have more advanced specifications, as well as being available in a just size.
Today, it was announced that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will be built with premium materials. The information comes from the Ice Universe leaker who says that the wearable device will have a titanium case. This will be an update to the previous Watch 4 and 4 Classic models that feature aluminum and stainless steel cases, respectively.
This will also be a way for Samsung to bring its smartwatch closer to Apple’s Watch Series 7, which already offers a variant built in titanium.
The well-known leaker also advances that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will have a sapphire glass, which again differentiates it from the Watch 4 that is equipped with Gorilla Glass DX. The advantage is that the sapphire crystal provides more scratch resistance than the current glass used by Samsung.
What we already know about Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 series
However, earlier rumors have revealed that the code name for Samsung’s new smartwatch is “Heart,” suggesting that the device will come with health-focused features.
The Galaxy Club website claims that the new series consists of the Heart-S, a 40 or 42mm version of the smartwatch with model number SM-R90x; Heart-L which has the model number SM-R91X and which will be the 44 or 46mm version of the smartwatch; and finally, Heart-Pro with model number SM-R92X and which appears to come in only one size.
Other sources say that the upcoming Samsung wearable is equipped with a substantial 572mAh power cell that will significantly increase battery life.
No further information is known, but more news is expected in the coming weeks as the release date, scheduled for August, approaches.
