Samsung will take advantage of the upcoming Unpacked event, which could be on February 8, 2022, to present its new Galaxy S22 family smartphones as well as the Galaxy Tab S8 series.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series is basically divided into three models, which differ in terms of screen size, resolution, storage and WLAN/5G configuration.
Screen
The most powerful tablet is the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with a 14.6-inch screen with a notch at the top and a WQXGA+ resolution of 2960 x 1848 pixels. The Super AMOLED display has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 420 nits and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Unlike the Ultra version, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ (12.7 inches / 2800 x 1752 pixels) and Galaxy S8 (11 inches / 2560 x 1600 pixels) do not have a notch display, but a classic design, albeit with bezels along the around the screen.
The Galaxy S8+’s screen type is Super AMOLED, but the Galaxy Tab S8 is LTPS TFT, with up to 500 cd/m² brightness and refresh rates up to 120 Hz.

Performance
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is present in all Galaxy Tab S8 tablets. The top model of the Ultra variant with 512GB of storage has 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, while the other versions have to make do with memory configurations of up to 8GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra offer 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), optional Bluetooth 5.2 and 5G, as well as the ability to expand memory with microSD cards, unlock devices via fingerprint and facial recognition, and transfer data or charge the battery via USB-C 3.2 Gen 1.
The batteries are rated at 8,000 mAh (S8), 10,090 mAh (S8+), and 11,000 mAh (S8 Ultra).
In addition, all tablets have built-in speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, Google Android 12 with Samsung’s One UI 4.1 and the familiar S-Pen, which is included.

cameras
All models in the Galaxy Tab S8 family are equipped with a dual 13-megapixel camera (f/2.0) and a 6-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens (f/2.2) on the rear.
The selfie camera, in turn, has a resolution of 12 megapixels (f/2.4). Only the ultra version will have two 12-megapixel sensors inside the notch.
Price
We don’t have concrete pricing information yet, but we expect costs to be between €680 and €900 (S8), €880 and €1,110 (S8+) and €1,040 and €1,220 (S8 Ultra), depending on memory and storage variants.
