Samsung Galaxy S24 could mark the return of smartphones to Exynos processors

This year Samsung garnered the sympathy of users by launching the Galaxy S23 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor for Galaxy globally. This means that there is no version available with an Exynos processor, however, this could change with its successors Samsung Galaxy S24.

The hypothesis is put forward by filter Revegnus who has been very active in recent days with several predictions about the Samsung Galaxy S24. It now points to the presence of the Exynos 2400 processor in this range of devices in selected markets.

After review, it turns out not. Here’s what happened: MX approved mass production of the Exynos 2400, and we’ll see it in the S24.

Samsung Galaxy S24 will have an Exynos 2400 processor inside

According to its new forecasts, the division of the South Korean company responsible for the development of smartphones has determined the mass production of the Exynos 2400 processor. In fact, this component should integrate the Samsung Galaxy S24 product line.

The source also reveals that this component will have very interesting specifications. Note the presence of ten CPU processing cores based on ARMv9 architecture and a GPU based on AMD’s RDNA2 technology.

It is expected to be produced under Samsung’s 4nm LPP process. Other technical changes will need to be made for the Exynos 2400 to offer significant gains in performance and power efficiency.

These are the technical details that determine the hope that the Exynos 2400 can be a worthy rival to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Will this be confirmed? Well, we will only know when we attend the official presentation of both processors.

The return of the Exynos processors in the next Samsung tops could mean a return to the strategy used in recent years. Strategy that determined that the US and China would have Snapdragon processors, while the other markets would have the Exynos version.

The problem with this differentiation is that the processors developed by Samsung were inferior, especially in their energy efficiency, compared to similar ones from Qualcomm. So the ubiquity of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy in the Galaxy S23 was very well received in the market.

There are still many months left for the official presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S24, so it is still too early to be sure of its specifications. As a result, you have to throw a good pinch of salt on the information that is now being published.
