This Wednesday we will officially meet the new Galaxy S23. The Samsung Unpacked event takes place from 18:00 on February 1.
With just over 24 hours to go before the event, what can we expect from the event? Just the Galaxy S23 or something else? That is what I will try to show you throughout this article.
This will be Samsung’s first physical event since the official unveiling of the Galaxy S20 in February 2020. And you don’t need to be a fortune teller to figure out that the Galaxy S23 series will be the star of the event.
Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra presented at this event.
The Galaxy S23 are already on the internet, cut out in detail in the most varied information leaks. Once again, the Ultra model will be the highlight of the line and should maintain the design of the previous generation.
The novelty is that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ must follow this design line, thus standardizing the line. The great highlight of the Ultra must be the sensor of 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 introduced a few days ago.
Photography, by the way, should be the highlight given to the team. In addition to this main sensor, it is expected with a 12 MP ultra-wide angle, a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and another 10 MP telephoto lens with up to 10x optical zoom.
In the Galaxy S23 and S23+ we should expect more modest sensors, but also of great quality. Both are expected with a 50 MP main sensor, accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide angle and a 10 MP telephoto lens.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 could be the processor of the Galaxy S23 in Europe
Something historic must be the introduction of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors in this line, in Europe. Remember that until now Exynos processors were used in the Old Continent. You can still expect 128GB of storage on the Galaxy S23 and 256GB on the S23+ and S23+ Ultra.
The screen of the Galaxy S23 will be 6.1 inches with Full HD resolution, the S23+ being 6.6 inches. In the case of the S23 Ultra, we will have 6.8 inches with 2K resolution. In all cases, you can expect AMOLED panels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The batteries should be around 3,900 mAh in the base model and 5,000 mAh in the most powerful model. Samsung will maintain a charging speed of 45 W on the Ultra and Plus, and 25 W on the base model. Pricing remains the big unknown, but this leak gives us a good idea of what to expect.
New Galaxy Book computers and “something else”
Last year, Samsung announced new tablets at this event. This year, new laptops from the Galaxy Book line should be presented. However, these devices are not expected in Portugal.
Considering the leaks don’t talk about more products, it’s unlikely we’ll have any new Bluetooth headphones or tablets launching at this event. This would be a real surprise.
