One of the biggest uncertainties regarding the new Samsung Galaxy S22 has to do with its charging speeds. A theory about the brand’s intent has yet to be established, but we hope it has finally been demystified.
Preparing the launch of its new Android flagships, the Korean company has completed another legal process, mainly for its commercialization. It is thanks to this that we see that Samsung will make the leap to 45 W charging on the Galaxy S22.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with 45W fast charging
Through the DEMKO entity we know what the charging speeds of the Samsung Galaxy S22 trio will be. It will be the more affluent models that will be entitled to a faster supply of their batteries.
In fact, this certification confirms that the Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with 45W fast charging. The base model (Galaxy S22) will stay at 25W.
It should be noted that the Galaxy S21 line has charging speeds of 25 W. Numbers well below the current offers of most of its Chinese rivals, which already reach 120 W.
Honoring its cautious nature when it comes to batteries, that’s still not how Samsung will match these deals. Even so, it will make the jump to 45 W in two of its new Android flagships.
It will be one of the vectors with which Samsung will try to influence its fans to buy the most expensive models in the Galaxy S22 line. Only these will have fast charging improvements.
It should be noted that other certifying bodies have already endorsed the Galaxy S22 trio with 25W fast charging. This may be an indicator that battery charging speeds may differ from market to market.
If this is true, I don’t think it’s the best strategy on Samsung’s part. The Korean is already criticized for offering different processors in different markets, so a difference in loading speeds would be another trump card for its critics.
Everything will clear up in about two weeks. It has already been confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S22 presentation event will be on February 9, where all the details of these devices will be revealed.
