Samsung Galaxy S21 Series will have a wide angle camera with Macro and Autofocus

Details and information emerging from different sources and now further clarifications on the wide-angle camera that will be used on the new series of top-of-the-line smartphones from the Korean manufacturer.

The debut should take place on January 14, shortly after CES 2021 which obviously will take place online due to the Pandemic. Few details are missing to complete the overall picture of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Ultra but it will surely please many to discover that, in all likelihood, Samsung has finally changed the wide-angle camera sensor by implementing two of the features that for years Galaxy S10/20 users ask.

As you can read from the message on Twitter, Samsung will take advantage of the Sony IMX 563 sensor that will allow you to have a viewing angle of 123° but, more importantly, it will support autofocus (PD – Phase Detection) and also the macro mode that could be activated automatically thanks to the recognition of the scene as happens, for example, on some Huawei smartphones released over the years.

Two features that are missing on the Galaxy series and that are a not negligible added value if associated with a quality optics and a high megapixel number in order to have clear photos and with many details even in close and wide angle mode. All that remains is to wait for the presentation to see if everything is confirmed.
