Samsung's Galaxy S24 series has introduced features based on artificial intelligence. Although these features are exclusive to new phones, there is good news for owners of older devices.
Patrick Chomet, Head of Customer Experience at Samsung, confirmed this in an interview Some 2023 flagship devices will get Galaxy's new AI features.
The device list contains the Galaxy S23, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Tab S9. These devices receive the new functions of artificial intelligence through the A UI 6.1 update in the first half of 2024.
A notable exception is the 2022 devices, including the Galaxy S22 series. even though they are eligible for the One UI 6.1 update. Samsung does not explain the reason for this omission. When asked, Chomet explained that the initial deployment was “limited” to next-generation devices “for now.”
Adding further confusion is the fact that the Galaxy S23 FE, which has the same chipset as the S22 in some regions, is included in the update. While it's possible that S22 owners will eventually enjoy Galaxy AI, Samsung hasn't offered a concrete timeline or guarantee.
