Saif Ali Khan has come out in support of Deepika Padukone, who was recently replaced in a film due to a dispute over her working hours. The actress had requested to work only 6-8 hours a day to balance her time with her 8-month-old daughter, Dua.
In a recent interview at the Arab Media Summit, Saif Ali Khan expressed his understanding of the importance of family time. He said, “I don’t like coming home to see my kids sleeping. Success is not just about work, but about spending time with your family.” Saif’s comments seem to be in support of Deepika’s decision, even though he didn’t mention her name directly.
Earlier, Ajay Devgn and Kajol had also spoken out in support of Deepika. At the trailer launch of their film “Maa”, Kajol said, “I think it’s great that you can work for shorter hours.” Ajay added, “Most people in the film industry will understand this. If an actress has become a mother, she should be allowed to work for shorter hours.”
Despite the support from her colleagues, Deepika remains firm on her decision to prioritize her family time. She has been sharing her experiences as a new mother on social media and seems determined to balance her work and personal life. The controversy surrounding her replacement in the film has sparked a debate about the importance of family time and work-life balance in the film industry.
It’s worth noting that Deepika was replaced by Tripti Dimri in the film “Spirit” after the dispute over her working hours. The film’s director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, had reportedly asked Deepika to work longer hours, which she refused. The incident has highlighted the challenges faced by working mothers in the film industry and the need for more support and understanding from producers and directors.
