Saif Ali Khan Clarifies Apology to Taimur Over Adipurush, Stands by Film’s Portrayal

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has clarified his recent comments about his film ‘Adipurush’. In a podcast, Saif said he apologized to his son Taimur for showing him the movie. This sparked a misunderstanding that Saif was criticizing his own film. Saif has now cleared up the confusion.

Saif explained that he apologized to Taimur because he played Ravana, a villainous character, in the film. Taimur told Saif that he should play a hero next time. Saif stands by every film he makes, including ‘Adipurush’.

The controversy started when Saif was chatting with his ‘Jewel Thief’ co-star Jaydeep Ahlawat. Saif jokingly said he showed Taimur ‘Adipurush’, and Taimur gave him strange looks. Saif said, “Yes, sorry” and Taimur replied, “It’s okay” and forgave him. Jaydeep burst out laughing.

The ‘Adipurush’ Controversy

‘Adipurush’ was released in 2023 and is based on the Ramayana story. Saif played Ravana, but his portrayal was heavily criticized. Many felt his character was comical and odd. The film’s dialogue and storyline also received negative reviews.
The movie faced intense backlash, with some organizations accusing director Om Raut and actors Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif of hurting religious sentiments. ‘Adipurush’ was also a commercial failure.

Saif’s new statement confirms he stands by his film. He was simply sharing a lighthearted conversation with Taimur. Saif is set to appear in his new film ‘Jewel Thief’, which fans are eagerly awaiting.
