Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his own home on January 16. The accused, Shariful Islam Shahzad, was arrested and is now seeking bail. He claims he did nothing wrong and the case is fake.
Shahzad was arrested for allegedly trying to break in and attacking Saif at his Bandra home. Now, a month later, he’s applied for bail through his lawyer, Ajay Gavali. The application says Shahzad cooperated with the investigation and the FIR is false.
Shahzad’s Claim
The application also states that key evidence, like call recordings and CCTV footage, was taken by the prosecution. So, there’s no risk of tampering with evidence or influencing witnesses.
Shahzad is accused of attacking Saif and his staff, Geeta, with a wooden weapon and a hexa blade. Saif was seriously hurt – a piece of the knife got stuck in his back, requiring surgery. He spent five days in the hospital.
Saif Ali Khan Case Hearing
The case is currently being heard in the Bandra Magistrate Court. The police still need to file a chargesheet, and the court will soon hear the bail application. According to India Today, Shahzad’s lawyer says his client did nothing wrong and the case against him is false.
