Sai Sudarshan Trails Orange Cap by 3 Runs in IPL 2025

The IPL 2025 season is heating up, with 14 matches already played. Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are the only two teams yet to taste defeat. Meanwhile, the battle for the Purple and Orange Caps is intensifying.

Let’s look at the top contenders for these caps. Nicolas Pooran from Lucknow Super Giants is currently wearing the Orange Cap. He’s the top run-scorer in the tournament, with 189 runs in three matches at an average of 63. Pooran has smashed 17 fours and 15 sixes so far.

Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans is close behind, just three runs shy of Pooran’s total. He has 186 runs in three matches at an average of 62, with 16 fours and 9 sixes. Jos Buttler, also from Gujarat Titans, is another strong contender for the Orange Cap. He has 166 runs in three matches at an average of 83, with 14 fours and 9 sixes.

When it comes to the Purple Cap, a thrilling contest is unfolding between Mitchell Starc of Delhi Capitals and Naveen-ul-Haq is not in the list, its Noor Ahmad of Chennai Super Kings. Starc has taken 8 wickets in two matches, while Noor Ahmad has 9 wickets in three matches. Starc’s five-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad was impressive. Josh Hazlewood from RCB is in third place with six wickets in three matches. Other bowlers like Sai Kishore from Gujarat Titans, Khaleel Ahmed from Chennai Super Kings, and Shardul Thakur from Lucknow Super Giants also have six wickets each.
