Elnaaz Norouzi, known for her role in the series “Sacred Games,” is still shaken by a cybersecurity nightmare. It started with an email in January. The message contained private photos of the actress, along with a threat to leak them. This wasn’t just a scam; it was a serious breach of her privacy.
The incident led Elnaaz to file a complaint with the cybercrime cell. Their investigation resulted in the arrest of a suspect from Switzerland. Despite this, Elnaaz lives in fear. She’s constantly worried that the perpetrator might contact her again from a different email or account. As a precaution, she updates her passwords regularly, changing them every month.
During the investigation, Elnaaz recalled filling out a form on an unknown link. She shared, “The cybercrime team came to my home, guided me on backing up my data, and helped me format my device. Now, I’ve updated all my passwords and change them monthly. They’re in constant touch with me, advising me to report any suspicious emails or messages.”
This experience has left Elnaaz on edge. She admitted, “I’m afraid to even open my email or social media accounts. I fear the criminal might have posted my private pictures online. I sleep anxiously and wake up in the same state. I’ve had to visit a therapist multiple times to calm down. It feels like my privacy has been invaded. I sense that someone is always watching me, and I’m living in constant fear.”
Elnaaz’s story is a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in the digital world. Her case underscores the importance of being cautious online and the need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect against such threats. Despite the arrest, the fear and violation she feels are a lasting impact of this ordeal.
