Sachin Tendulkar to Captain India in the International Masters League

Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen in cricket history, holding the record for the most runs in international cricket. He is the only batsman to have scored 100 centuries in international cricket. Though he retired from international cricket in 2013, his presence on the cricket field will be felt once again as he will captain India in the International Masters League.

The tournament will begin on February 22

The International Masters League will be held for the first time, between February 22 and March 16, across three locations: Mumbai, Vadodara, and Raipur. A total of 6 teams will participate, including teams from India, Sri Lanka, England, Australia, West Indies, and South Africa. The Indian Masters team was announced on Friday, with players like World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan.

Irfan Pathan excited to be a part of India Masters

Irfan Pathan said in a press release, “I am thrilled to be a part of the India Masters team in the first season of the International Masters League. I have shared so many joyful and priceless moments with Sachin Tendulkar and other teammates in the past, and it feels great to be back with them.” The captain of the Sri Lanka Masters team is Kumar Sangakkara. The team includes former aggressive batsman Romesh Kaluwitharana, fast bowler Suranga Lakmal, and opening batsman Upul Tharanga.
