Sachin Tendulkar, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in cricket history, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the sport. The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has honored him with an invitation to become an honorary member, which he has accepted.

The MCC, founded in 1838, is one of the oldest and most prestigious sporting clubs in Australia. It is responsible for the management and development of the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), a premier venue for cricket. The MCC has confirmed Tendulkar’s acceptance of the honorary membership through a tweet.

Tendulkar’s Impressive Record at MCG

Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most Test runs scored by an Indian batsman at the MCG. He has accumulated 449 runs in five Test matches at an average of 44.90 and a strike rate of 58.69. His impressive record at the MCG includes one century and three half-centuries.

A Legendary Career

Tendulkar’s illustrious career is marked by numerous achievements. He has scored over 15,000 runs in Test cricket, with 51 centuries in 200 matches. In One-Day Internationals (ODIs), he has scored 18,426 runs, including 49 centuries in 463 matches. His batting prowess has been demonstrated on every ground around the world, earning him a reputation as one of the greatest batsmen of all time.
