Sabalenka, 27, defeated the third-ranked reigning U.S. Open champion Gauff in straight sets, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, on Thursday.
The win marked Sabalenka’s third consecutive triumph in the prestigious season-ending tournament, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
She finished first in the Stefanie Graf Group, underscoring her dominant performance among the elite field of eight players.
