Ryu will miss the rest of the year with a left forearm injury.

Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu will miss the rest of the season and perhaps part of the next due to an ulnar collateral ligament injury in his left forearm.

The severity of the injury is still unclear, but Ryu needs to have surgery to repair part of the ligament or replace it entirely – in which case it would be the Tommy John procedure.

Ryu, 35, had a 5.67 ERA in six starts for Toronto this season, his third since signing a four-year, $80 million deal with the Blue Jays.
