Ryanair will eliminate printed boarding passes by November 2025, mandating mobile app usage for its more than 200 million annual passengers in a significant shift toward a fully digital boarding process.
Starting November 12, 2025, travelers must present their boarding passes exclusively through the airline’s official “myRyanair” mobile application. Paper tickets, including those printed at home, will no longer be accepted.
This move positions the budget carrier as one of the first major European airlines to implement a 100% digital system for its entire boarding procedure. The initiative is part of Ryanair’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
The airline estimates that approximately 80% of its more than 200 million annual passengers already utilize digital boarding passes. The new policy aims to standardize this practice across all flights.
Ryanair acknowledged that an adaptation period will be in place until early 2026. During this time, the airline stated it would be “tolerant” of passengers who still present printed tickets.
