Russian helicopter lands on lake, 7 missing

The local emergency service said the helicopter was owned by Vetiaz Aero and had just landed near a lake south of the Kamchatka Peninsula with 13 passengers and three crew members.

On the other hand, according to the state news agency RIA, the helicopter was carrying tourists from Moscow and St. Petersburg and crashed into the lake. According to the report, nine people have been found after the accident and seven people are missing.

Russia’s Tass news agency also quoted an emergency services spokesperson as saying that seven passengers and two crew members had survived the crash.

It should be noted that Kamchatka is famous among tourists for its natural beauty. It is located 6,000 kilometers east of Moscow and about 2,000 kilometers west of Alaska.

Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry says an investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched.
