Russia successfully tests an intercontinental rocket

Moscow, Apr 12 (BLAZETRENDS).- The Russian Strategic Forces successfully carried out a test launch of an intercontinental ballistic rocket from a mobile ramp.

As reported in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, “on April 11 from the central state range Kapustin Yar, Astrakhan region, a unit of the Strategic Forces successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic rocket from a mobile land complex ”.

The objective of the test launch, the statement specified, was to test a new charge for intercontinental missiles.

“The launch confirmed that the technical and constructive solutions for the design of new strategic rocket systems are correct,” the note added.

Defense has ensured that the test charge hit the target located in the Sary-Shagan polygon, in Kazakhstan, more than 2,000 kilometers away, with the expected precision.

Russia alerted the United States to the test launch

Russia alerted the United States to the test launch of an intercontinental missile, as stated today by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Riabkov.

“Yes, all notifications about launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles and ballistic rockets from submarines are sent the same as before” to the US, Riabkov said, quoted by the Interfax agency, when answering the question of whether Moscow had communicated to Washington rehearsal yesterday.

On March 30, the deputy minister announced that, despite having suspended compliance with the New START or START III treaty, Russia would continue to alert the US about its launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarine locations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 21 the suspension of his country’s compliance with the New START, although he qualified that Russia was not abandoning the pact, but was merely pausing it because of the US and the attitude hostile from Washington, which supports Ukraine with weapons and financing.
