Russia shoots down a Ukrainian drone over the Moscow region

Moscow (BLAZETRENDS).- A Ukrainian drone that was trying to attack facilities in the Moscow region was shot down this Friday by anti-aircraft defense.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense in a statement, “this morning an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with an unmanned aerial vehicle against facilities in the territory of the Moscow region was thwarted.”

The note added that the drone was destroyed by air defense means and there were no casualties or damage on the ground.

Shortly before, the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, wrote on his Telegram channel that the anti-aircraft defense forces had prevented an attack by an enemy drone.

Today’s attack is the second this week against Moscow and its surroundings.

Last Monday two Ukrainian drones were shot down in Moscow by means of their inhibition with electronic warfare means, without causing victims or considerable damage.

One of the devices fell practically in the center of the city, in the vicinity of a military university and several buildings of the Ministry of Defense.

Previously, on July 4, the Russian authorities reported that anti-aircraft defense had shot down four drones in New Moscow, an administrative division of the Russian capital, and that a fifth had been shot down with electronic warfare means in the Moscow region.
