Russia-Iran payment system major step

Moscow: Russia and Iran reached concrete agreements on technical aspects of payment system integration.

According to the details, Russia and Iran have settled important issues related to the payment system, the Russian payment system ‘Mir’ will soon be connected with the Iranian system ‘Shetab’.

According to the details, an important meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdullahian took place in Moscow on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, the Russian Foreign Minister said that the Russian payment system will soon be integrated with the Iranian Shitab system.

Possibility of joining 4 other countries in the Russian payment system to neutralize the sanctions

Lavrov said that concrete negotiations are underway at the level of central banks regarding the integration and mutual use of the Russian Mir system and the Iranian Shitab system.

He said that we had discussed in this regard in July and decided to prepare a strategy, now I am sure that this matter will be implemented soon.

On this occasion, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that concrete agreements have been reached with Russia on the technical aspects of integration of the payment system.
