Russia denounces that the US did not issue visas to the Russian delegation to participate in a UN forum

The Russian Foreign Ministry has denounced that the US authorities prevented the issuance of visas for the Russian delegation that was going to participate in a United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

According to the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zajarova, this decision by the United States means "a serious violation" of its obligations under the agreement between the UN and the US Government regarding the location of the UN headquarters in New York.

"The goal is obvious: increase the confrontation with Russia at all costs, blocking their representatives from the possibility of full work on the UN platform"Zajarova has criticized.

Thus, the spokeswoman for Foreign Affairs has ensured that an attitude "so aggressive" against Russia "of course it will not go unanswered"as reported by the Russian agency Interfax.

Previously, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Vershinin, has already pointed out that Moscow will request international arbitration in relation to a possible abuse of power by the United States as host of the UN bodies.

Vershinin has denounced that Moscow has been facing denials of entry visas to employees of Russia’s permanent mission to the UN for years.
