On the occasion of the official visit of a Venezuelan delegation to Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has announced that they will send their electoral observers to the next local and regional elections scheduled for November 21 in the Latin American country.
"We will send our observers", announced Lavrov, who in turn pointed out that these intentions have already been sent to both the relevant United Nations and European Union authorities, waiting, he trusts, that they also give their approval.
In this sense, Lavrov has remarked that Russia is willing "to give all the necessary help" so that these elections are held with all the guarantees, reports the Russian news agency Sputnik.
In another vein, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia, has hoped to continue the dialogues that the Government maintains with the opposition in Mexico despite some maneuvers by the United States, such as "arbitrary decision" from "to kidnap" to the "ambassador" Alex Saab, "one of the table members".
"We have already had three meetings and a fourth meeting is pending, which we hope will be held soon, but unfortunately it was affected by the arbitrary decision of the United States to kidnap a member of the table, Ambassador Alex Saab", has pointed out Plasencia.
In turn, he has remarked that "the dialogue between the legitimate Government of Venezuela chaired by Nicolás Maduro" and the opposition "it’s going very well" and thanked the Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the "facilities" that is putting so that it is.
The dialogues between a delegation from the government of President Maduro and the opposition began last August in Mexico City, under the auspices of Norway. The fourth meeting was scheduled for October, but was finally canceled by the ruling party in response to Saab’s extradition to the United States, where he faces a money laundering crime.
