Russia announces wheat exports

Moscow: Despite the war with Ukraine, Russia has made important announcements for Turkey and Egypt.

According to foreign media reports, Russia will continue to supply grain to Iran, Turkey and Egypt, announced Dmitry Relko, director general of the Moscow-based Institute for Agricultural Market Studies.

He said that despite the increase in shipping costs, Russia continues to export grain to some of its major customers, including Egypt, Turkey and Iran. According to logistics, about 900,000 tons of wheat have been loaded at Russian ports since March. Û”

According to AG Flow data, Russian exports of important agricultural commodities, including wheat, fell by only one million tonnes in the first 13 days of April, meaning that shipments abroad were close to the level for the same period in March.

Regarding shipping costs, the company claims that shipping costs are also rising from the Black Sea region, which has risen by 50% to 80% over the past year due to the risks of war.

Bloomberg says Egypt has booked a cargo from Russia in the latest wheat tender, while France has also bought most of the wheat from Russia.

Last week, the US Department of Agriculture raised its estimate of Russian wheat exports for the current season to 33 million tons, which is only 2 million tons less than its forecast before the crisis in Ukraine.
