The entertainment world has been buzzing lately. Fans can’t help but compare “Anupamaa,” a top-rated TV show, with the classic “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.” This legendary show, starring the iconic Tulsi, recently made a comeback after many years. Now, Rupali Ganguly, the beloved star of “Anupamaa,” has finally spoken about these comparisons.
Rupali Ganguly’s show “Anupamaa” consistently holds the number one spot in TRP ratings. But when producer Ekta Kapoor announced the re-launch of her super-hit show “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,” the comparisons began. Suddenly, talk surfaced about the two shows and their leading ladies. Some social media users even called for “Anupamaa” to go off air. Rupali Ganguly is now sharing her thoughts on the entire situation.
Rupali Ganguly on Comparisons
For the first time, Rupali Ganguly reacted to this talk. She clearly said that calling these two shows rivals is simply wrong. In a special chat with Tele Talk India, Rupali shared her thoughts on Ekta Kapoor’s wisdom. She mentioned that “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” is an evergreen show in TV history. It connected an entire generation to their television screens.
She continued, “It makes us all proud that such a historic show is airing again on our channel.” Rupali plainly stated, “I don’t understand how anyone can compare shows like ‘Anupamaa’ and ‘Kyunki…’. Both shows have their own unique identity and goals.”

Ekta Kapoor Also Spoke Out
Before this, Ekta Kapoor herself said something similar in an interview. She stated that “Kyunki…” is returning not as a competition. Its purpose is to tell a new story. Kapoor believes that pitting women against each other or comparing content is outdated. She added that it helps no one.
Kyunki’s Return
“Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” was the show that made Smriti Irani a household name. It ran from 2000 to 2008. During that time, it pushed TV’s popularity to new levels. The first episode of this re-launched show aired recently. It brought back many fond memories for viewers.
