Rugby tragedy: a player died after a hit in a match

Argentine rugby is mourning a tragedy that occurred during the match between Hurling and SITAS, corresponding to the ninth date of the Superior category of First B of URBA. It is that the second row of the Hurlingham club Lucas Pierazzoli suffered a blow during the match that caused serious injuries from which he could not recover. Friends and relatives of the player confirmed the death of Pierazzoli, who had been hospitalized since Saturday at the Posadas hospital.

Pierazzoli, 28, one of Hurling’s most beloved players, fell into a ruck just minutes from the end of the match and was sprawled on the floor, having trouble breathing. The doctors from both teams treated him and found that he was suffering from cardiorespiratory arrest. When they were able to revive him, they transferred him to the Posadas hospital, where it was found that he had suffered several cervical fractures and cerebral edema.

Hospitalized in a delicate condition, Pierazzoli could not recover from the serious injuries and died this Sunday, news that caused immense pain in the world of rugby.
