Content creators have become the new celebrities of the present. While in the past, people looked up to actors, singers, and players as references, now these new personalities have emerged, enjoying tremendous popularity, especially among the youngest. There are millions of followers that this type of creator accumulates in their different social networks. This is something that today we have completely normalized, but that, a few years ago, was practically unimaginable. In fact, if someone had said what this sector would end up becoming when it all started, they would probably not have believed it.
It is true that already many can make a living thanks to uploading their content to networks, but for this to happen, there had to be a few who bet on it and started this adventure. At that time, a few saw YouTube as an escape route and a form of entertainment where they did not expect to get anything in return. Because yes, although the majority are dedicated to consuming live content, there was a time when videos reigned on YouTube. A trend that is true that little by little seems to come back to gain more and more popularity among content creators and that could relive what was its ‘golden age’.
If we talk about YouTubers, it is impossible not to mention them in particular. And if we were talking about pioneers of the sector, we could say that the maximum representative is undoubtedly Rubius. The creator of Hispanic-Norwegian content is now a reference and an internet legend, but in his past, he began like any other, sharing his first videos without anyone knowing him. But surely the reason that Rubius is considered so important in this world is that he dared to get into it practically when no one did. Many may not know, but the first publications of the Hispanic-Norwegian on YouTube date back to 2006.
In fact, the first video he uploaded was on December 8 of the year mentioned above and was a comic assembly of the Grand Theft Auto 4 video game. Even so, it would be in 2011 when he would begin to create content in a more regular way, thanks especially to the mythical Skyrim assemblies, a title that marked him deeply. However, all this was not going to happen in his mythical main channel called ‘Elrubiusomg’, that today has more than 40 million subscribers. All this happened in a previous channel, which he had to leave in the year 2012 due to complaints by copyright that made it impossible to sign for the mythical Network, Machinima.
At that time, he did not know, but with that ‘little step’, he would begin to lay the foundations for what the YouTube community would be in Spain. A stage in which he would begin to grow without stopping and accumulate millions of followers behind him, who continue to accompany him today. Adventures in Latin America, new projects, and many more details that are already mythical today, although that is another story.
