Ruben Amorim Satisfied with Manchester United Squad for New Season

Amorim tries to resolve doubts on Man. United's American tour

Manchester United has landed in the United States. Their pre-season tour kicks off with three big matches. They will face West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton. The first challenge comes this Saturday at midnight against the London side. Coach Ruben Amorim shared his thoughts on Friday. He seems quite pleased with how pre-season is shaping up. This good mood comes even as more new players are expected. But the team has already added Matheus Cunha, Diego León, and Bryan Mbeumo.

“I’m genuinely happy,” Amorim told reporters. He stressed how vital it is to bring in players quickly. He pointed out that the new guys already showed their class in the Premier League. Matheus Cunha, in particular, offers flexibility. He can play in many spots, which helps change the starting lineup. The coach admired their humble spirit. These players had other chances, and they heard the chatter about United. Yet, they picked Old Trafford. “That’s everything to me,” Amorim noted. He added a word of caution about future signings. “If I start the season with this current squad, I’ll be satisfied,” he concluded.

Amorim also praised the team’s strong bond. He felt the mood in the camp was very positive. He also spoke about four players training away from the main group. Antony, Sancho, Malacia, and Garnacho are not current options. They are looking for new clubs, much like Rashford, who already moved to Barcelona. But Amorim suggested these four could still rejoin the team. “Some players must leave to make room,” he explained. “Others are looking for a fresh start.” He promised them time to decide their future. “If they reach a point where they need to rejoin the team, they will,” he stated firmly. Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox have a price tag for these players. If that amount is not met, they will stay at United. “I am ready to welcome the players back,” he insisted. “I will have more options. If they then have to fight for their place, it will be perfect.”

On the tactical front, Amorim mentioned Bruno Fernandes’s role. He could play deeper in midfield or push further up. He also heaped praise on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. These new signings are expected to play big parts. “We definitely need experience,” Amorim said. “Matheus is young, but he brings a lot of experience.” He added that this approach defined their transfer strategy this season. “It’s more than just experience,” he clarified. “They have the specific skills we need. And, very importantly, we sign players who can handle the immense pressure here.”
